SONGWRITER
Songs about love, loss and, you know... life
ABOUT SUNNY KNABLE
Sunny Knable is many things to many people.  He goes by composer on his resumé, pianist/organist on Sundays, professor by morning, private teacher by afternoon, accordionist when he's wearing a beret, drummer in another life, and songwriter in the twilight hours.  He has been writing songs about love, loss and, you know... life, since he was 12 years old, screaming his head off in his parent's garage.  Not much has changed.

Lyricisms
All I want is a simple life
Tell me yes or no, give me black or white
But the world gives us shades of grey
And tells us nothing’s wrong
But one thing you’ve got right:
It’s not a simple kind of life

-from "Simple Kind of Life"
I’m a dot on a sphere but the sphere’s really here
And a dot’s not made of space
Two dots draw a line and a line makes a time
Drawn a line that a dot can trace
We’re all spinning round with these feet on the ground
And it proves that we’re in this place
It is me that is mine and it’s only in time
Will I fade from this body and face, I will believe

-from "Killing Time"
Dream, dream that you kiss her
Smile, though you will miss her
Live life in a picture ‘cause
Love’s now something you wish her

-from "Dream Song"
I want the same things they do, I want the world on a plate
I want my name as the toast of the town, I want my fate
Dreams I had when I had when I was young
Are something to replace
So, where are you now?

-from "Where Are You Now?"

Now I’m twenty something and if I have learned one thing
That what I’m after isn’t her, it is in the hunting
For she might break my heart and I will act the part
But if you fall from high enough, it’s worth falling in love

-from "History of a Boy in Love"
But a boy grows up, but a boy is he
And he feels that there is another place he should be
And all those people there are still waving goodbye
A boy began his life on a plane in the sky

-from "Sacramento"
There is a book that I keep in my mind
Tear a page out and leave one behind
It will never be satisfied
The pages extend back endlessly far
The later it goes, the deeper the scar
I feel them still and think I always will
Even in my slumber, way down deep I wonder
If that's really me anymore, I'm not sure

-from "There is a Book"
Words mean a lot
Words mean a little
Words are what you want them to mean
Words can be hot
Words can be brittle
Words can leave something left to be seen
But on this day, let it be clear
Let it be love I want you to hear
On this day, let us be living
Let us be giving thanks today

-from "Thanksgiving"
Look at the birds up in the trees
Only the man with binoculars sees
He is willing to give his sight to the blind
Look at the dog, down on the ground
Chasing the bird, but the bird won’t be found
She is owning the leash
and she calls to the hound, only to find
Standing tall, the beautiful people, Look at all the beautiful

-from "The Beautiful People"
Lonely heart, half the part
We seem to perfect the art
Little Boy Blue, now it’s just me and you
Life that’s fraught is all we’ve got
We reach out with nothing caught
Friend, I know what you seem to be going through
Little Boy Blue, come blow your horn
Don’t be afraid, don’t be forlorn
-from "Little Boy Blue"
Some play it safe, some risk it all
Some never rise, and some take a fall
Some plan for love, some plan disaster
Some plan for happy ever after
At the end of the day, let there be someone here
At the end of the day, let there be another near
Close your eyes

-from "At the End of the Day"
